Terms of Use and Legal Notice
Aliyah Atlas (aliyahatlas.com, "the site") is a free, independent information site for people who are considering aliyah and want a first feel for places in Israel. These terms apply to every use of the site. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
1. Who runs the site
The site is run by private individuals in Israel ("the site operators", "we"). It is a non-commercial project: there are no ads, no paid or sponsored content, and nothing is sold. We are not real-estate agents, brokers or advisers, and we receive nothing from any locality, developer or organisation.
The site is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Central Bureau of Statistics, any ministry, municipality or public body, the Jewish Agency, or any aliyah organisation. Using their public data does not mean that they approve of the site or of how we present the data.
2. A general, non-binding estimate
Everything on this site (figures, maps, labels, scores and suggestions) is a general, non-binding estimate, provided for orientation only. Nothing here is a statement of fact about any place, community or person, and nothing here is binding on anyone.
3. Not advice
The site does not provide professional, legal, real-estate, financial, tax, educational or immigration advice. For any decision, consult qualified professionals and the relevant authorities.
4. Third-party public data
The information is based on public data published by third parties, mainly government bodies and OpenStreetMap, and processed automatically. It may be inaccurate, incomplete or outdated, and errors may occur when datasets are combined, matched or placed on the map. Official data is reused as published, "as is", under the terms of each publisher.
5. Statistics describe areas, not people
Aggregate statistics describe areas, not individuals. They do not say who any person is, what anyone believes or how anyone lives. The character labels are simplifications made by this site; they are not official categories.
6. Neutrality and non-discrimination
The site uses official statistics so that newcomers can find communities, services and institutions that fit their own way of life. It does not rank places as better or worse. It does not recommend that anyone live, or not live, anywhere because of religion, origin, nationality or any other personal characteristic. Labels such as "Arab locality or area", "Mixed Jewish–Arab" or "Mainly Haredi area" are the site's own short estimates, built mainly from official CBS census figures together with other official public data about the area. They are not official statistics and not judgments.
Israeli law prohibits discrimination in the supply of products and public services and in advertising, including on grounds of religion, nationality, country of origin and place of residence. Do not use this site, or anything taken from it, to discriminate against any person or group, for example when renting, selling or advertising homes.
7. Verify independently
Before any decision about housing, schooling, community, religious services or anything else, verify everything independently: in person, with the community, with the municipality and with the relevant authorities.
8. Content prepared with AI assistance
Some texts and translations on the site were prepared with the help of artificial-intelligence tools. We review them as far as we can, but errors are possible. If you find one, please tell us.
9. Corrections and removal requests
If you think that something on the site is wrong, out of date or unfair to a place, an institution, a community or a person, or that it infringes your rights, please tell us through the contact page. Please name the place or page and explain the problem.
We review every request. When there is doubt, we correct, hide or remove the item promptly while the request is being reviewed.
10. No responsibility or liability
To the extent permitted by law, the site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, the site and its operators accept no responsibility or liability for any use of the information, for any decision taken on the basis of it, or for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
11. Your responsibility and indemnity
You are responsible for how you use the information. If you breach these terms or the law in connection with your use of the site, for example by using it to discriminate or by copying it unlawfully, and a claim is made against the site operators as a result, you agree to compensate them for the reasonable costs, losses and legal fees that result, to the extent permitted by law.
12. Content, data and licences
The site's texts, design, method and selection are © the site operators, unless stated otherwise. The data belongs to its publishers and is used under their terms. The data derived from OpenStreetMap is available under the Open Database License. Details are on the Credits and licences page.
You may link to any page and share what you see with a credit to "Aliyah Atlas". Please do not copy the site in bulk or present it as your own, except as the licences on the Credits page allow.
13. Links to other sites
Links to official sites and to other services are provided for convenience only. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content.
14. Changes
The terms, the data and the site may change at any time. The date at the bottom of this page shows when these terms were last updated. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms, and any matter relating to the site, are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. The competent courts in Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Israel, have exclusive jurisdiction. If you use the site as a consumer, this does not take away any protection given to you by mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
16. Language
These terms are published in English, French and Hebrew, with the same meaning. To the extent permitted by law, the Hebrew version prevails if the versions differ.
17. Contact
